Manual Import Kroger Loads

The process of importing loads from Kroger is typcially speaking automated. However, there have been enough occasions on weekend and after hours to warrant the development of a manual process for importing loads should the automated delivery of the loads from Kroger fail.  This document is intended to provide the reader with the steps necessary to import the "Trucks Route Files" into TMW and generate system order numbers.

Note:
Please DO NOT use this method unless you have waited at least 30 minutes from when your Kroger routing agent confirmed they sent the file to us. If you use this method in haste you could generate duplicate loads.

The first step in the process is to contact your routing center and obtain the trucks export file for the routes in question. There are two routing centers inside Kroger. One routing center is in Aurora and the other one is in Nashville. Based on your knowledge of your route file delivery please contact that center and get the export file via email.

Once you have the file in your inbox the process to get the file imported will vary slightly by facitilty.

Portland, TN
Your account is setup for only one billto on the import. To import file files for your facitlity save the trucks routing file to the following path:

  • T:\Terminals\Portland, TN\Private\Upload

Bluffton, IN

Phoenix, AZ
Your account is setup for multiple billtos which means a decision must be made on where the files are being saved. To import file files for your facitlity save the trucks routing file to the appropriate path below:

  • T:\Terminals\Phoenix, AZ\Private\Upload\PEYPHO
  • T:\Terminals\Phoenix, AZ\Private\Upload\KROTOL

Fountain, CO
Your account is setup for multiple billtos which means a decision must be made on where the files are being saved. To import file files for your facitlity save the trucks routing file to the appropriate path below:

  • T:\Terminals\Colorado Springs, CO\Private\Upload\DILHUT
  • T:\Terminals\Colorado Springs, CO\Private\Upload\PEYFOU
  • T:\Terminals\Colorado Springs, CO\Private\Upload\BAKFOU

Delaware, OH
Your account is setup using some logic that is enforced on the Kroger side in that they split the file for multiple carriers sending only the portion of the loads that the specific carrier needs. This process is done by the same system in Kroger that sends us the files thus if this system is down and you collect a file from your router for manual processing you need to be aware that you will be importing loads for their full routes for all carriers. This will create additional orders in the system that you will need to cancel. At the current time there is no better mechanism to control this behavior for your facitlity. You will need to save the route file to the following path:

  • T:\Terminals\Colorado Springs, CO\Private\Upload\DILHUT

Summary
In summary the steps to manually import a Krogers load file are:

  1. Obtain the trucks routing file from your routing contact at Kroger.
  2. Save the file to your Terminal's T: drive in the appropriate path as defined above.
  3. In less than 10 minutes you should have your notice from the AlertEngine@firstfleetinc.com that loads have been created.
